Life Events
Celebrating and supporting you through life's significant moments.
At certain moments in life, people instinctively turn to the church. Whether marking joy, grief, commitment, or new beginnings. We are honoured to accompany individuals and families through life’s most important milestones. As part of the worship and sacramental life of the Church of England, we offer space for prayer, reflection, and celebration within a setting of beauty, music, and tradition.
You do not need to be a regular worshipper at St Cyprian’s to enquire. We will begin by listening to your requirements and then will guide you through the next steps.
Weddings
Marriage is a profound commitment, and the Church has long been a place where couples come to make vows before God, family, and friends.
St Cyprian’s offers a setting of exceptional beauty for weddings. We work closely with couples to ensure that the service is reverent, personal, and rooted in the Church of England’s understanding of marriage.
People wishing to be married at St Cyprian’s must meet the legal requirements set out by the Church of England and have a qualifying connection to the parish. We are happy to explain what this means and discuss your circumstances.

Funerals
The death of someone we love is a moment of deep sadness and reflection. The church has a vital role in offering prayer and hope at such times.
At St Cyprian’s, funerals are conducted with sensitivity and care, whether the service is simple or more formal. Our focus is on pastoral care, prayer, and supporting those who mourn, while commending the person who has died to God with reverence and compassion.
Funeral arrangements are usually made through a funeral director, who will contact the church on your behalf. If you would like guidance at an early stage, you are welcome to contact us directly.
Funeral FAQs

Baptisms
Baptism is the sacrament through which people are welcomed into the Christian faith and the life of the Church. It marks a new beginning and a lifelong journey of faith.
At St Cyprian’s, baptisms are celebrated within the context of the worshipping community, reflecting the belief that faith is nurtured and lived out together. Baptism is offered to people of all ages, including children and adults, and preparation is provided to help candidates and families understand the meaning of the sacrament.
Baptism FAQs

Baptism is the Church’s celebration of new life in Christ and incorporation into the family of faith.
-
Yes. Baptism is offered to people of all ages. Adults are prepared carefully so they can participate fully.

Confirmation
Confirmation is the service in which a person publicly affirms the promises made at baptism and is strengthened by the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by the Bishop.
At St Cyprian’s, confirmation is offered to those who feel ready to explore and affirm their faith more deeply. Preparation is provided to help candidates reflect on what confirmation means within the life of the Church and to ask questions in a supportive setting.
Confirmation is open to adults and young people. If you are considering confirmation, or would like to find out more, we warmly invite you to get in touch for an initial conversation.
Please note that if you are baptised and in any church, you are welcome to receive communion at our altar, even if you are not confirmed.

Pastoral Support
There are times in life when we need space to talk, pray, or seek guidance, whether during periods of difficulty, transition, or uncertainty.
The clergy at St Cyprian’s seek to offer pastoral care with discretion, compassion, and respect. This may include conversation, prayer, or, where helpful, guidance towards additional support. For those who may benefit from further help, The Marylebone Healing Centre is just down the road from St Cyprian’s.
If you would like to speak with a member of the clergy about a pastoral matter, please contact us and we will do our best to arrange a time to talk.
If you are looking for a space to hold a conversation or counselling session, our Glentworth Room is available to hire and offers a confidential, quiet setting.
We also welcome prayer requests and will be glad to pray for you in church, either by name or privately and anonymously. The Lady Chapel is open for those who would value a quiet place for personal prayer and reflection.
